BIO

​Mažvilė Rudė is an artist whose creative path is shaped at the intersection of unique experiences, merging her background as a medical doctor, art therapist, and software engineer. Different fields—from the management of digital structures to medical sciences and psychotherapy theories—along with the use of symbolism, shape her conceptual, structural, and multi-layered approach to visual art.

​Exhibitions

  • September 20 – November 15, 2026 – "Physically Embodied Stories: Aged Books", Trakų Vokė Manor Estate, Vilnius.

Through the abstract motif of a book, this series explores the profound parallel between printed volumes and human lives. It reframes the physical marks of time—whether weathered covers or human scars—not as flaws, but as dignified, unique records of lived experience.

  • September 2019 – "Inner Alchemy", Lithuanian Medical Library, Vilnius.

A personal retrospective revealing how changing life circumstances naturally shift creative expression and the direction of artistic inquiry.

  • 2005–2016 – Group exhibitions, Panevėžys and Justinas Vienožinskis Art Schools and public spaces.

​Art Education & Training

  • 2024- present: Jeruzalė Art Center

Studies under Justina Puidokaitė. Exploring Old Masters’ techniques as well as 19th-century painting methods. Focused on creating painting media from raw pigments and oil or egg yolk, as well as preparing canvases.

  • 2014-2018: Vienožinskis Art School

Studies under Vygandas Paukštė, Jonas Vaitiekūnas, Eglė Vertelkaitė, and others; further exploration of various media. Disciplines: painting, printmaking, drawing, and art history.

  • 2005–2009: Panevėžys Art School

Fundamentals of composition, drawing, sculpture, and painting.

Interdisciplinary Education and Experience

  • 2019- present: Back-end Java Engineer.

  • 2015–2021: Visual solutions creator / Artist for video game projects. Participated in creative Game Jams, gaining interdisciplinary experience by integrating artistic expression into interactive digital projects.

  • 2015–2017: Art Therapy Center. Postgraduate qualification as an art therapist, based on psychoanalytic and Gestalt theories.

  • 2009–2015: Vilnius University. Medical Doctor (MD) degree.
